On My Bucket List: Sailing the Whitsundays
Read this article in: German
Whitehaven Beach probably is the most beautiful beach in the world but it definitely is the whitest with its 99 percent quartz crystals. Thanks to its quality, the sand never gets too hot or too cold to walk on. The mild, shallow waters make you feel like you are in paradise. I visited the beach during my stay in Australia in 2012 already but due to a tight schedule and budget I couldn’t stay longer than a few hours. And of course, the most famous of its beaches (which is often crowded in the daytime) isn’t the only place to see around the Whitsunday islands. Should I ever get to the archipelago again, I want to rent a boat and sail around the islands, sleeping onboard at night and going island-hopping and snorkeling at coral reefs all day long.
Note: I have decided to slowly develop my bucket list as a series of posts instead of posting everything that is in my head all at once. Each Saturday, I will add a new point to my list and, what’s more important, explain to you why it is on there. Have a look at the growing list here and read all my explanations here.
