On My Bucket List: Fly in an Airbus A380
This post is also available in: German
Those of you who have been reading this blog for some time may already know that I am a huge lover of planes. Want to know why? Read the whole story here. Therefore, I just can’t wait to fly in an Airbus A 380, the biggest airliner that is currently crossing the skies. I have already watched the plane numerous times and the best occasion was when I was driving at the Autobahn from Frankfurt Airport to Mainz and an A 380 had just started and crossed the Autobahn on a low level. It is a wonder I didn’t cause an accident because my attention wasn’t focused on driving at all.
I could have had the opportunity to fly the A 380 from Frankfurt to Bangkok last winter when I was offered a press trip. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get away from work then. Maybe you can imagine me crying over my bad luck… Yet, I am sure my time will come. And until I can finally get on board, I’ll just lose myself in reveries about the first real encounter I had with the giant of the skies: When I did a tour at Frankfurt airport, I had the opportunity to watch the plane being made ready for departure in its parking position – and I touched the belly of the beast and took some pictures…
Note: I have decided to slowly develop my bucket list as a series of posts instead of posting everything that is in my head all at once. Each Saturday, I will add a new point to my list and, what’s more important, explain to you why it is on there. Have a look at the growing list here and read all my explanations here.
