One year ago, in January, I noticed that I hadn’t been writing in a while. I had been working as an editor for Allgemeine Zeitung for nearly half a year and was beginning to miss writing a lot. I had a lot of stories in mind, stories I had collected on travels in the past and present. So I started a travel blog. I wasn’t looking to make money blogging or anything – I was simply looking for a creative outlet. Although this may have slightly changed by now, I still do it for the fun.
When I started anemina.com a year ago, there was nothing. No knowledge of coding, no idea of how the blogosphere worked. No texts, just some ideas. I tried a lot of things, a lot of themes and layouts until I found a design that finally seemed suitable to me. And you can take my word for one thing: Nothing is as constant as change. While I was writing post after post and always looking to bring my web design to perfection, you read my blog, commented on my ideas, told your friends about it and made blogging even more fun for me. Thank you for staying with me! I’m awed!
How I was becoming nerdy
While constantly working on my texts and layout, I also learned the ropes of coding. At one point, my boyfriend started calling me a nerd for the sheer amount of spare time I spent in front of my computer. Well, that didn’t change, that’s for sure. In November, I started to write a regular travel column for the weekly travel magazine of Rhein Main Publishing House which appears in Allgemeine Zeitung, Wiesbadener Kurier, Wiesbadener Tagblatt, Main-Spitze, Wormser Zeitung and Gießener Anzeiger every three weeks.
I am very much looking forward to another exciting year of blogging! Are you with me?
